Mairi Mackinnon
Mairi Mackinnon is a Scottish-Canadian composer and pianist known for her work in contemporary classical and experimental music. She was born in Glasgow, Scotland, and studied music at the University of Oxford and the Vancouver Academy of Music. Mackinnon’s compositions often incorporate elements of folk music and are characterized by their use of unconventional harmonies and rhythms. She has won numerous awards for her work and has performed with orchestras and ensembles around the world.
