As I arrived at the classroom, I noticed that a few of the students were huddled around in a circle, screeching and flapping like a flock of excited seagulls. They were pushing and shoving each other, as though they were trying to get away from something. And then I saw it on the floor. I inhaled deeply and tried to remain calm. A used sanitary towel on the floor was not something that they generally teach you how to deal with during your training year. And yet, I knew that for every second that was passing and the students werenāt learning, my head would be on the chopping block.”A teacherās life is certainly never a dull one.
