Description
Growing up on an Andalusian farm rearing bulls for the ring, young Antonito hand-rears a black calf named Paco and the two become inseparable friends. When Antonito learns of the brutal fate awaiting the bulls, he frees Paco and rides with him into the hills — only for the Spanish Civil War to erupt around them in 1936. Their village is bombed, Paco vanishes in fright, and Antonito is left alone in a shattered world, searching for home.
